With a focus on representation and inclusion, her work challenges beauty standards and the patriarchal "male gaze"

Luana Martignon is a photographer, artist, and activist.

Growing up in Italy in the 90s, she was taught early on that her body was something to fix, a narrative that took years to unlearn.

She went on to found Intimate Portraits by Lu, a platform dedicated to helping others do the same.

Her work is rooted in body neutrality, anti-diet culture, and the radical belief that you don’t need to change a single thing about yourself to be worthy of respect.

Through her practice, Luana supports individuals and founders to fully own who they are, without filters, without shrinking, and without conforming to societal expectations.

With a strong focus on representation and inclusion, her work actively challenges beauty standards and dismantles the patriarchal “male gaze.”

Her group nude shoots are powerful, thought-provoking artworks, created in solidarity with women and non-binary people, and in support of their rights.
